I got this sewing box for free from my local market a few months ago, it was so tattered nobody wanted to buy it! The veneer was peeling off so I removed it all, then took the whole thing apart and sanded and painted it. The colours I used on the lids are called "Festival Orange" and "Race Yellow" from the
Mid-Century range at Fired Earth.
Rather than using it as a sewing box, I thought it would be handy as a coffee table/magazine holder!

Hi Alice, I love what you've done, and I can imagine the work that went into it! I love love love giving old unloved objects a new lease of life. I checked out your home makeover as well, and think it just looks gorgeous. Cath x
It looks really gorgeous, and inspiring - I'm often put off doing total refurbs, and end up living with lovely things that look a bit shabby - but when they end up looking this good, the effort is definitely worth it! Loving your house makeover too. Rachel x
