This weekend I found myself tiding up a few projects, some of which I started about a year ago(!)

I finished our bedspread by using an eclectic mix of randomly placed pretty floral fabrics. In contrast, my son's quilt was a bit more of a challenge.  I don't have many boys fabrics, but I'm pleased he really liked the ones I used :)

The little cushion cover has been appliqued with my "Folk Bird" design...I feel a few more of these coming on!

new curtain

I made a curtain with the large piece of fabric I received yesterday for my modest little sewing corner.  Its lovely to work with the door open as the sun pours in, although a sun tan on one arm is not a good look!

today the postman delivered...

...and some very pretty folksy floral fabric...

...which perfectly reflects the trailing lobelia on our roof terrace.

Its always hard to get any work done when the weather is so nice, but its given me the excuse to do lots of things with family and friends.  However, I'm now feeling inspired to also spend time with my sewing machine after receiving these lovely fabrics!

girls' room - vintage wallpapered shelves

The weather has been so miserable here, but I find it really cheerful doing up kids's rooms!  I recently finished the girls' kitchen area with this little shelf unit. I painted a wine box in "Hibiscus" by Designers Guild, then pasted on cut-outs of jars from my vintage wallpaper collection.

The dollhouse shaped display shelf is also covered with wallpaper, but the one I used for the garden is very old and unfortunately tore really easily (hence the big crease down the middle and tearing along the edge!) I'll post details of my son's room soon.
